Privacy Policy
This policy explains what AIEIO Files collects, how your files are handled, and the choices you have. Last updated: August 2026.
AIEIO Files ("we", "us") is operated by Directory.com.au Pty Ltd (ABN 68 090 816 461), Australia. It is part of the AIEIO suite of tools.
What we collect
- Account details - your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Your content - the files and folders you upload, and their names and metadata (size, type, dates).
- Sharing data - who you share items with, and the public links you create (including a hashed password if you set one).
- Operational logs - a per-account activity log (actions and the IP address they came from) used for security and to show you your recent activity.
How your files are protected
- Uploaded files are stored outside the public web area and are never directly downloadable. Every download passes a server-side permission check.
- Nothing you store is listed publicly or indexed by search engines.
- Sensitive values are encrypted at rest, and link passwords are stored only as secure one-way hashes.
- Connections are served over HTTPS. Session cookies are HttpOnly and same-site.
How we use your information
We use it only to provide the service: to authenticate you, store and serve your files, enforce sharing permissions, send you transactional emails (verification, password reset, and notices when someone shares with you), and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data or use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Transactional email is sent through our own mail relay. We do not add you to marketing lists.
Sharing you control
Files are private until you share them. When you share with a user or create a public link, you are choosing to disclose that content to those recipients. You can revoke user access or links at any time.
Data retention
Deleted items sit in Trash for 30 days, then are permanently removed. If you ask us to close your account, we delete your files and account data.
Your choices
You can update your name and password in Settings, delete your files at any time, and request account deletion via our contact form.
